After Yale Law School, Managing Partner Lara Kayayan launched her career at the globally renown law firm Latham & Watkins LLP. She went on to become the youngest General Counsel and Executive Vice-President in the history of Home Savings of America, a federal savings and loan association that originated billions of dollars in mortgage loans annually.
As General Counsel, Lara managed HSOA's entire legal department and personally supervised and directed dozens of outside law firms in a wide variety of litigation matters nationwide, including employment and TILA class actions, lending practices suits, catastrophic personal injury litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and intellectual property matters. Lara became an expert at defending mortgage repurchase lawsuits, pioneering a unique and aggressive strategy: massive resistance and prevailing at trial. Subsequently, Lara served as interim General Counsel for DTZ, a UGL Company, where she managed the entire worldwide legal department of a multi-billion dollar publicly-traded commercial real estate services firm.
Since returning to private practice, Lara's experience and unparalleled tenacity has served her clients well in a diverse range of high-profile litigation matters. In 2011, the Armenian Bar Association designated Lara one of the “Top 20 U.S. Attorneys Under the Age of 40.” She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Yale Club of Los Angeles and is Chair of the Governance Committee. Lara is fluent in Armenian and Arabic.
